I was not feeling particularly 'ready to run' this morning when I awoke at 645 and had to blow my nose for a good couple minutes. But things began to change... after my swim my calves loosened up, my head felt fresher and I somewhat felt an appetite. When I arrived at the Package pick up, the hub-bub of running a race honestly still did not hit me. I felt as if I was picking up a race number and shirt for some other Emma. I bypassed all the freebees (first time ever!) and rushed off to work my 4 hour shift at the new downtown Pen Run. Lots of customers were asking if I was running any event tomorrow, and I would reply that "yeah the half." I still was not getting excited... I suppose the in between shoe fits of nose blowing had something to do with it!
Well it is now 5:00pm, post easy-trainer-ride annnnnnnd it is finally sinking in that I am running a race tomorrow at 7:30 am. Being sick is far from the worst thing that could have happened pre race. It just means that I might hurt a little bit more thus I will have to focus harder tomorrow. Nothing out of the question by any means. So away I go to get all numbers on my clothes, lay out my outfit and pack and change of clothes... and lots of socks; forecast says rain!
