A little thing called life

So, it's been a while. Let's see what has happened since November 16th (I think that was my last post). Well:

Training volume has steadily increased; lots of swimming which I am happy about. Mon, Wed, Fri I swim with Noa overseeing my my faults, strengths and everything in between. It is great to get feedback on Wednesdays from her, because not 5 hours later I am in the water again at Uvic with some of the Tri team. These guys are good! Lots of them were/are competitive swimmers, and wow they push hard. I am happy that I can not only keep up, but also push the pace with them. Sunday is a 'solo' swim, but lots of the uvic kids join me... so it is never easy. I have been a total wimp in regards to the weather: I ride inside and would rather treadmill-it that run outside. What has happended?! I am from the interior, and allegedly like to ski.

Running has been slowly coming along; I think. Just plugging away right now and trying to strengthen my gluts and core. Unfortunately a little thing called school sorta got in the way the past 2 weeks. I have never worked so hard at studying. And it came at a price! I am sure all training buds can back me up, when I say that "I was not myself these past few weeks." I seriously could not remember a single swim work-out, so I swam at the back to know what to do! With that said, I managed to complete all work-outs and I am happy I did. More than anything I like to be consistent. I had my stats exam yesterday and I must have put in at least 4-7 hours of solid studying a day, with the morning of the final writing all 3 practice exams, then leaving the house in a daze to write the Real Final. I think it paid off (well we'll see when results are posted), but I feel really confident about it!

Holiday plans are the following: Work at Peninsula Runners starting on Tuesday the 21st, Dog-sit Leif and Laura's pooch Luthor until the 28th. Go to Alex's house for Christmas dinner, play XBOX with Myke, and go back to Penticton on the 31st for New Years with my family.

I am off to work on some scholarship stuff so I can repeat that joyful process of stressing and studying again!

Here is a song by Xavier Rudd. I listened to ALL of his music while studying. I am not sick of it yet, because it is so GOOD!

PS if you have ever tried to play a didgeridoo, it is hard!
